The last few days of life in Maryland were probably the most difficult days for us in terms of getting ready to go. We had sold everything that needed to be sold and put most everything else in storage, but the coordination of going from townhouse to trailer in one day became a daunting task. The neighborhood association frowns on parked trailers and the landlord declined checkout until the house was empty. Then there was the issue that the packed trailer ended up above and beyond the safe towing weight for the truck. At the last minute, we reassessed what would go. Glass kitchenware, the computer speaker system and the stainless steel cooler were among the items deemed extravagant and literally stuffed into our already packed storage unit or taken to the Salvation Army.
So try as we might, we were unable to make a daytime departure on July 15th as planned. Instead, we spent the night at our next door friends’ house and left early the following morning. After stopping first at our RV dealer in Annapolis for final hitch adjustments, we double-backed and began our voyage.
Thanks to everyone for being happy, sad and wholeheartedly enthusiastic about this new adventure of ours. We have truly enjoyed all of the eulogizing. But really, we’re not dead. Just keep coming back here to see what’s up. Remember, we’re only an email away.
