Pastie: English meat pie introduced to the Upper Peninsula by Cornish miners in the mid-nineteenth century. You can eat 'em hot, warm or cold.

Mackinac Island fudge: Fudge was born here. In 1887, a candymaker working at the Grand Hotel placed his chocolate fondue mixture on a marble slab, where it cooled and “set up.”

Cherries: French settlers brought cherry trees here to grow in their gardens. The state now grows about 75% of the US crop of tart cherries.
