Maple syrup: Every county in Vermont produces this stuff. It takes forty gallons of sap to produce one gallon of syrup. Locals throw “Sugar on Snow” parties, where hot maple syrup is drizzled over snow to make a candy-like substance.
Ben & Jerry’s ice cream: In 1978, childhood buddies Ben and Jerry opened a scoop shop in a renovated gas station in Burlington.
Cheese: Vermont is known for its cheeses, especially cheddar. We all know Wisconsin produces finer cheeses, though.
