Even though we didn’t make it to Burlington to tour Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, we bought a pint of Chunky Monkey at the local gas station.
Maple products are king in Vermont. We walked through a sugar bush—a forest of maple trees—at Sugar Bush Farm which became a commercial sugar house after its owners, in the 1950s, decided to make extra money by producing maple sugar candy in their kitchen.
After touring the cemetery in Barre, we’ve decided that granite is the way to go when deciding on a headstone. Hundred-year-old stones looked brand new and were easy to read as compared to those carved from other types of rock.
