Our friends, Steve and Lisa, met us in Phoenix. We visited Grand Canyon and explored the Phoenix area together.

The largest type of cactus in the US, a 50 foot Saguaro can be 150 years old and weigh up to 16,000 pounds. This amazing giant can absorb up to 200 gallons of water in one rainstorm.

It’s illegal to pick up rocks from the Petrified Forest National Park. There’s a case in the visitor museum full of letters from people apologizing for doing so. Many of them cite bad luck after stealing the rocks.
